The automatic short circuit test machine provides a unique method for detecting assembly level insulation defects in lead-acid batteries, including missing and damaged separators prior to ICW, and also checks weld quality after ICW. The unit is easily set up and batteries are positioned, clamped, tested and released in a fully automatic sequence.
By applying a constant current between the two tabs after the bridge welding, and measuring the voltage change with a precision millivoltmeter according to the different resistance between the two tabs, it can effectively detect defects such as pores and false welding in the battery during the welding process, and the fault location can be visually intuitive. The equipment judges the welding quality by loading current and the meter feedbacks the resistance value. Unqualified products will automatically alarm with sound and light and be automatically ejected for manual processing. This reduces the number of unqualified products caused by substandard welding.
